Draelos Metabolic Center is home to an outstanding team of certified weight loss specialists – all committed to helping you achieve and maintain your weight loss goals.

Under the direction of Dr. Matthew Draelos, board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolismthis highly qualified team is devoted to helping patients achieve a better quality of life through control of obesity and other chronic metabolic diseases.

The Draelos Metabolic Center weight loss team includes diabetes counselors, nutrition experts, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, sonographers and laboratory technicians. Patients at Draelos Metabolic Center receive counseling and care from all team members.

The Draelos Metabolic Center is a direct outgrowth of Dr. Draelos’ belief that patients deserve the most advanced and specialized medical care available in their struggle with all metabolic diseases, including overweight and obesity.

Dr. Draelos has been in private practice in the Oklahoma City metro area for more than 12 years. Previously he served on the medical faculties at Harvard Medical School and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

Matthew Draelos, M.D. is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He has devoted his professional career to helping his patients control and live with a variety of chronic metabolic and hormonal diseases.

The Draelos Metabolic Center is a direct outgrowth of his belief that patients deserve both specialized and the most advanced medical care in dealing with metabolic diseases, including obesity.

Sharon Bolton, PA-C

Certified physician assistant Sharon Bolton joined the DMC team in 2008 and assists Dr. Draelos with all aspects of patient care, especially counseling for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma, and holds a physician assistant degree and a master’s in health science from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Karon Potter, R.D., L.D., C.D.E.

“I really enjoy working with patients. It is a pleasure to work with patients to create real-life solutions that improve their health and decrease the burden of their chronic health conditions.”


Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator Karon Potter is an integral part of the DMC team, providing patient counseling in all areas of diabetes self-management and weight loss/management. She also provides patient training on the correct use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, plus develops patient education materials for weight-loss plans and diabetes management. Finally, she coordinates patient care with other healthcare providers and manages the clinic’s dietary supplement purchasing and inventory.

Stacey Timmons, PA-C

I love the ability to work one-on-one with patients to encourage medical and lifestyle changes that allow them to achieve goals they had previously thought unattainable.

Certified Physician Assistant Stacey Timmons enjoys being a part of the multidisciplinary team at Draelos Metabolic Center where she practices comprehensive endocrinology care. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health and a Master of Health Science degree in Physician Associate Studies from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, respectively.

Danielle Zachary, RN, MS, CCNS

I like helping people and watching their faces when they have achieved or are achieving their goals.

Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist, Danielle Zachary performs a full spectrum of duties at the Draelos Metabolic Center, including working with patients to control their metabolic disease and diabetes, as well as to lose weight and boost their overall health.

Zachary holds bachelor’s degrees in nursing and in education/athletic training from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and East Central University respectively. She also holds a master’s degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a master of science/clinical nurse specialist degree from the OU Health Sciences Center. In addition, she is certified as a critical and acute care clinical nurse specialist.
