If you have a healthcare spending account it is possible that some or all of the costs associated with a weight loss program may be reimbursable. Check with your account administrator for eligible expenses. A letter of medical necessity may be required for services, supplements or medications to be eligible for reimbursement. Draelos Metabolic Center will provide you with this documentation when requested. There is no charge for letters that can be generated during your office visits. A small fee is associated with documents that must be completed outside of normal office visits.

Weight gain is sometimes the result of a specific medical condition or a side effect to treatment of a medical condition. Weight loss may even be recommended as treatment for a chronic medical condition. Despite these facts, few medical insurance policies will cover services for the sole purpose of weight loss. Your insurance carrier may tell you that they pay for services, labs, or tests included in our weight loss programs. This is true, however these services must be associated with a limited set of diagnosis codes. Currently insurance carriers are reluctant to pay for any service associated with the diagnosis of overweight, weight gain or obesity.

The $300 initial weight loss visit price packages over $600 dollars of tests and services to get you started on a path of weight loss success. Patients who receive medical services at Draelos Metabolic Center and who also wish to participate in a weight loss program are offered special savings on their initial visit ($150). This reduced price is offered because components of the full initial visit are likely to have been completed at medical visits.
